Let’s Talk Safer Families SEND Sessions are designed specifically for parents and carers of children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). These sessions help families to understand potential risks and build confidence in keeping children and young people safe.

It is important to recognise that having SEND does not make a child or young person more likely to become involved in community safety issues. However, some children and young people with SEND may experience additional vulnerabilities that can increase their exposure to certain risks.

Through discussion, practical advice and signposting to local services, families to can reduce risks, strengthen protective factors and promote positive outcomes for children and young people with SEND.
